Freedom Devotional: an invitation to intimacy

Several years ago, I heard a quote by the Dalai Lama: “The world will be saved by the western woman.”At the time, I was running a growing business, where I supported women in finding freedom from emotional eating. I was one of those western women, trying to save the world. But I was on the brink of divorce, and had just missed my grandmother’s funeral and the wedding of one of my best friends because I was “too busy” to get away. I was a workaholic, using work to avoid my feelings, working 24/7 to help women find freedom. Ironic.

So here, I share with you. This book is dedicated to you, my Sister, and to the belief that the world will be set free by women who are free, and sisterhood is key. I offer these whisperings of my heart, in devotion to your freedom.

Sisterhood is the best space to support a woman’s freedom and I look forward to being in sisterhood with you. Thank you.
