As we were preparing to return to the US from Canada a few weeks ago, I shared with some friends that I felt as if we were parachuting into an erupting volcano.
Covid cases increasing.
Civil unrest amplifying.
Mistrust deepening.
These times are intense, and not just for those of us in the US. (And of course within the US, we are not all having the same experience).
The intensity can create fear and tension in our bodies, that gets fueled by scrolling and a lack of intimacy with others.
I wanted to have a conversation about this, and about how we can build courageous intimacy with our bodies, others, and ourselves in these times…
This week’s podcast episode is a conversation with Shawnrey Notto, a self-love and sacred sensuality guide, devoted to embracing sovereign embodiment and expression.
We explore the power of pleasure, cultivating intimacy inside of complexity, creating safety and belonging (without having to fit-in), and so much more.
In this episode, we explore:
- How both sameness AND difference can create safety and growth, and how to know what’s most nourishing for us.
- Creating safety in our bodies in an unsafe world, and why that matters
- The tension and the medicine of belonging, and the difference between belonging and fitting-in
- The life experiences that have shaped Shawnrey’s work and her understanding of the deep importance and power of pleasure.
