The Four Gates into Matriarchal Leadership

The greatest glaring issue in our world is that we have built systems and structures in opposition to the ways of nature, of love, of harmony.

Instead, genocide and enslavement, domination and subjugation, extraction and exploitation have been foundational to the design of so many of our structures.

These structures live outside of us – from the agreements we make in our own homes, to our larger social structures – but the narratives that created them live inside of us.

Why else would we feel guilty for resting?
Why else would we feel entitled-to or excluded-from wealth?
Why else would we believe we needed to work 40 hour weeks?
Why else would we judge the shape of our bodies?
Why else would we feel imposter syndrome?
Why else would we struggle with simply being visible?

The conditioning in our psyches and cells perpetuates big ass patriarchal problems. Problems that we need to be working against, not for.

And for women in midlife – primed for our deepest leadership, yet left carrying the load in daily life – it keeps us too busy and too self-censoring to reorder our lives and the world.

Our world desperately needs the wisdom of women in midlife – those of us who have been around long enough to see the problems and know some of the solutions.

So what do we do about it?

I believe that every Patriarchal Problem can be reordered by Matriarchal Devotion.

But what it requires is that WE BECOME THE ONES WHO EMBODY THAT DEVOTION.

EXAMPLE:

The Patriarchal Problem of the domination and sexualization of women’s bodies, patriarchal-ageist-ableist beauty standards, and the insistence that our bodies are not our own…

And can be reordered by the Matriarchal Devotion to owning and knowing our own erotic aliveness – to know our bodies as nature; to know them as inherently whole, worthy, and beautiful; to claim our sovereignty and pleasure as ours…

And we can embody that by living into the archetype of the Vivacious Sage. She who stands powerfully for our embodied sovereignty and inherent erotic innocence. She who uses her aliveness as fuel for her leadership.

These are the 4 Gates into Matriarchal Leadership…
