The first trimester of my pregnancy absolutely kicked my ass. (Here’s the announcement, in case you missed it!)
I felt overwhelmed. A baby wasn’t in my plans right now, my relationship with with Noah was quite new, my hormones felt like they were taking me on an emotional rollercoaster, and – as many mamas will attest – I was incredibly exhausted all the time. All my big business plans got pushed aside, and all I had the energy for was eating and taking care of my current clients. I didn’t feel like myself.
I’ve had times before when I felt uninspired. Times when I was too sick or sad to produce. And through those times, I’ve gotten quite good at leaning back – allowing my team to step in while I took a brief break. But this wasn’t a day or a week, it went on for months…
And the longer it went on, the harder it felt to pick up where I left off. I knew that this time was actually calling for a reinvention – to head back to the drawing board in my business.
This experience has reminded me of a time when I was in the early days of my business. Although I was working hard to put one foot in front of the other, something about my message didn’t feel clear to me. It felt murky, and as a result, I felt confused at times. I knew I was helping people – my clients were very happy. But even though my business was growing and I was earning enough in my coaching practice to make ends meet, I would find myself feeling jealous of other coaches who seemed to have it more “together” than I did. Their messaging and branding was on-point, which reflected in their clear and compelling offerings, and it seemed that they were getting the results of that clarity. Sometimes I would look at other coaches websites and wish we could just swap businesses (and sometimes lives).
I now know that things aren’t always as they appear on the outside. Beautiful websites do not inherently mean a business is successful.
But it wasn’t just about things being pretty on the outside, for me.
I didn’t want to coach for the sake of coaching. I didn’t want to make money for the sake of making money. I wanted to feel that I was doing my life’s work, in a way that felt authentically ‘me’.
I wanted a deep connection to my message, clear and complete offerings that felt like a delight to provide, the success that comes from a clear and solid foundation, and the confidence that radiates from a woman who’s on-purpose.
I knew that each of these things were connected for me, and that I would never feel fulfilled in my business, as long as I was confused about some of these core elements.
And these things don’t matter to everyone in quite the same way! Some people don’t care what they wear, but I do, because what I wear impacts how I feel, and has the power to both express and fuel my creativity. Some people don’t care what their website looks like, but I do, because it’s my virtual temple, and the energy it conveys calls in those who are going to resonate.
These things matter to me, because I relate to my business like it’s my art – from the visual aspects, to the creation of my retreats and programs. I want everything to flow together beautifully. Perhaps you do, too.
When you’re creating your masterpiece and things aren’t flowing, sometimes it’s important to go back to the drawing board.
When things got really clear from me – from my messaging, through my offerings, through my actual plans and daily actions – everything started to flow, and my business has grown in leaps and bounds since. It’s not always a straight, upward-trajectory. It’s not always easy. But there’s a north star I can always lean towards, and now when a shift in my work is percolating, I know how to go back to the drawing board without getting paralyzed by confusion and despair.
This aspect of business has been so powerful for me that when I work with people one-on-one, this is the core of what we do…

I have witnessed the transformation when a woman finally unearths her unique magic through this journey, seeing herself and her gifts clearly, and taking a clear stand for her work, both in her commitment to others and her commitment to herself. It’s beautiful and it’s powerful.
I’m opening the doors this week only, to take 10 clients. Because of baby, I don’t have plans to do any one-on-one coaching for at least another year, so if the time is right, now is your chance to dive in…
“I’ve enjoyed amazing progress since I started working with Nisha. I launched my first high-end coaching package and sold out — making $30K in a month! I ran my first group coaching program & have a solid plan for scaling that upwards to a 6-figure money-maker. I’ve been interviewed on Entrepreneur on Fire and featured in the Huffington Post. I’m still working just 3 days/week (about 20 hours/week) and enjoying 4-day weekends with my one year old daughter and husband. I hired my first VA and have a new website in the works with a total rebrand that is so much more me!”
Cailen Ascher, Clarity Coach
“My experience with Nisha was outstanding, enriching and full of expansion. A clear direction as to what steps needed to be taken next that supported me just not in my immediate terms goals but the big picture. Nisha’s brilliant business sense combined with her feminine intuition got me refocusing on what was important and how to act on it. It also activated a calling to enter into a deeper knowing, accessing and expanding my deepest truth – Reminding me of the offerings I have to give to the world!”

Take a moment to feel whether this feels right for you, and if so, let’s talk about it. If we agree that the time is right to work together, great! If we speak and feel that it’s not the best time or I’m not the best person to support you right now, that’s great too. No pressure.
If you have any questions, feel free to email [email protected], and we’ll take care of you!
I just want to say that I feel I am in a zone indecisiveness when it comes to my work. But whenever I read your emails or go on your site I feel this resonance with your messages, your story, your journey. I do not know exactly where I will be in a year but I do feel inspired by you. Thank you for that 🙂
Nisha,
Your post resonates with me profoundly! I am about to turn 26 and have had my coaching/speaking company for almost three years now. I feel like, like you in the past, I am heading back to the drawing board in effort to gain clarity about my message, offerings, and foundation. I want to take the time to tell you how inspiring and articulate you are in your writings, and I am grateful to be a part of your community. Perhaps in the future, when I have more financial stability, we can work together. Until then, sending you love and positive vibes.
Fondly,
Nisha,
I’m going through the same thing. Back to the drawing board. I’m not feeling my site anymore and my message is evolving in a major way. I came back to your site because it’s inspiring to me and I love it and I’ve never told you that before. Therefore I find it so funny and relieving that you are not feeling your message is perfectly in alinement with yourself and it really helps me to hear you share what you are going through. Thank you so much!
I look forward to watching what transpires during your growth period. I hope you are patient with yourself with the responsibilities that come with motherhood. Be gentle and accepting of yourself. You will get there.
Sending hugs.
omg! same here…
Sending you miracles and support
This spoke to me. I’m currently going back to the drawing board. I’m loving the experience and grateful for the miracles that are coming in. It all had to do with me being still, surrendering and sitting in universe’s silence.
